SUMMARY OF OUR TRAVEL PLANS:

We leave Saskatoon September 1 to fly to Gorodek, near Lviv in Western Ukraine, were we will visit many of Rose's Stanicki first cousins from her mother's side, and attend the marriage of cousin Maryana Ohinok on September 5.

We leave Ukraine September 9 and travel by car to Southeastern Poland to visit Rose's Pietrucha cousins from her father's side. September 14 we travel by train to Warsaw to renew acquaintances with the staff at the Cdn Embassy where Tom had an assignment in 2003, and have dinner with the Vice President of the Polish Academy of Science. One of Tom's last projects at work was to arrange a science tour of Saskatchewan for him and his wife. September 16 we will take a train to Berlin, Germany, for two nights to see a few sights there.

We then have a few visits with Rose's Stanicki first cousins and families throughout Germany: Marcel and Doris (Stanicki) Tauscher in Peine, near Hanover; down to Amberg near Nurnburg to visit Maria Dinkelmeyer, friend of cousin Natalia Stanicki and who lives near Oksana (Stanicki) Schlehauber and Monica (Stanicki) Seifert; and further down to Immedstadt on the Swiss border to visit Klaudyja Stanicki, brother Jurgen and Heiki Stanicki, and brother Phillipp who is in a coma in hospital.

Around September 20 we move on to France where we hope to see some of Paris, including the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre. We also hope to visit the Cdn War Cemetery in Brettville-sur-Laize, France where Tom's cousin Maurice (Slim) Rogers, a WWII gunner and casualty, is buried. October 30 we take the Eurostar high speed train from Paris to London, going under the English Channel.

October 1 we fly from London to India were we hook up with my workplace friend Jag and Pam Trana. We will see the Taj Mahal in Agra, the temples at Jaipur, the Golden Temple of Amritsar, and stay with them at their condo in Chandaghar.

October 12 we fly back to Rome for a week on our own to see a few things like the Vatican, St. Peter's Bascillica and Leonardo da Vinci's painting and sculptures. We are working on getting a private audience with the Pope where Rose will press for women and gay rights. Then October 19 we join a guided tour from Rome to Venice and a cruise from Venice to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The cruise will stop at Bari, Italy; Tunis Tunisia; Malaga Spain; Madiera Island of Portugal; St. Thomas in the Caribbean; and San Juan Puerto Rico.

Arriving in Ft. Lauderdale on November 10, we will be met by Tom's brother Barry and his wife Karen, who will take us around a few places in Florida, before returning to their winter home in Estero, near Ft. Meyers.

We hope to return home a little before or after November 22, with lots of stories.

Tom and Rose
